I am pleased to announce that the ‘birds and bees’ have been very busy within the WH family lately! On the 18th August, my wife Sam and I were delighted to welcome into the world a beautiful baby daughter, Imogen Heather Humphrey. ‘Little’ Imogen made her appearance at a whopping 11lb!  To say this came as a huge shock to us is an understatement as our other daughters Annabelle and Matilda had only weighed 8lb7oz and 8lb9oz respectively. Even the midwife had never seen such a large baby. Luckily for Samantha, Imogen was born via a planned caesarean but we both agree that this occasion definitely marks the completion of our family.

Darcie Anne Heather Rochelle was born on the 9th September, weighing 7lb4oz, to Jessica Wild and her partner Daniel Rochelle who is a driver for WH and also my nephew. Mother and baby are doing well and Dad Danny is still walking round with a big smile on his face!  The two new arrivals share the same middle name in memory of Heather Humphrey who sadly passed away earlier this year.

Not to be outdone by the other families, our Sales Director, Gerry, became ‘Grandad Gerry’ on the 22nd August when his son Matthew and wife Rachel welcomed into their family Edith Alice Poppy Brownridge, weighing in at 7lb 11oz. I’m sure this must have come as a great shock to all as Gerry certainly doesn’t look old enough to be a Grandad!

September 30th saw another celebration as our very own Caroline Rawson from customer services became Mrs Caroline Kennaugh when she married her fiancée Andrew. The wedding ceremony and reception were held at Kings Croft Hotel in Pontefract, with 58 guests in attendance during the day and over 120 guests for the evening celebrations. The sun shone that day and a great time was had by all. In keeping with the baking theme the couple celebrated their nuptials with a departure from the traditional wedding fayre as they enjoyed an afternoon tea with musical accompaniment by a pianist. Their fantastic wedding cake was made for them by one of our customers, ‘Cakes by Michelle’ who are based in Wakefield. After enjoying a honeymoon in Cape Verde the Kennaughs now have the difficult task of choosing from almost 2000 photographs to create their wedding album. Everyone at WH wishes Caroline and Andrew all the very best for the future.
